Chinese FM Releases Video “The Backbone” Marking 80th Anniversary of WWII Victory

The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday released a nearly 3-minute video titled "The Backbone" to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The video reviewed what enabled the Chinese to win the fight, stating that "it was the total dedication to one's motherland. It was defiance in the face of ruthless invasion. It was unbreakable faith. And the simplest truth of all: Evil cannot crush justice. Darkness cannot eclipse light. Regression cannot stop progress."
